36 Days of Type - 2023 Edition
3D Design
For the 2023 edition of 36 Days of Type, I took a more sculptural and conceptual approach to the alphabet, transforming each letter and number into a dynamic, tactile object.
This year’s focus was on material storytelling, unexpected compositions, and the blending of organic and constructed forms. Rather than treating the letters as flat surfaces or simple 3D extrusions, I envisioned each one as a small art installation — a carefully crafted piece of design that could exist in the real world.
Working again with Cinema 4D and Redshift, I explored a wide range of materials including polished metals, soft textiles, ceramics, translucent plastics, and even surreal textures that blur the line between the natural and the artificial. Color played a pivotal role as well, with each piece exploring bold contrasts or subtle gradients to evoke mood and energy.
Some letters lean towards architectural minimalism, while others dive into playful chaos, resulting in a collection that feels both unified and diverse.
