36 Days of Type - 2022 Edition
3D Design
For the 2022 edition of 36 Days of Type, I pushed my creative and technical boundaries even further, creating a full set of 36 3D letterforms and numbers.
This year, my focus was on exploring raw, tactile surfaces, bold structural forms, and high-contrast lighting setups. I aimed to craft pieces that felt both familiar and alien — blending organic, rough textures with strong, geometric silhouettes.
Using Cinema 4D and Redshift, I experimented with a more aggressive approach to materiality: cracked surfaces, corroded metals, weathered stones, and unexpected color palettes dominate this collection. Lighting played a critical role in emphasizing the depth and flaws of each texture, helping the forms feel tangible, almost touchable.
Together, the 36 pieces create a dynamic visual narrative that celebrates the power of texture, form, and lighting in redefining familiar shapes.
